i took anxiety gently by the hand
because i wanted her to know that
i understand. i know she only wants
to protect me and keep me safe.
"but you can rest now." i assure her.
"take a break"
you'll be ok? she hesitantly asks.
"i will. i swear."
and so she close her eyes and slept.
